Amy Schaack, MT-BC, WMTR, is a board-certified music therapist and the founder of LIH. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire with a bachelor’s degree in music therapy. She completed her internship at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. Amy completed her Neurologic Music Therapy certification in February of 2012 and recently completed her Fellowship training in August of 2014. She grew up in Southwestern Wisconsin and returned to La Crosse to begin her profession as a music therapist. She started LIH in 2008 and primarily services children with special needs through La Crosse County and private clients interested in music therapy. In 2008, LIH piloted the first music therapy program at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital which continues to offer music therapy services to adult and pediatric cancer patients and hospice patients. Amy’s primary instruments include piano, guitar, and voice and she has a special interest in songwriting and music for emotional expression.

Sarah Kolander, MT-BC, WMTR, is a board-certified music therapist who graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, IA, with a bachelor’s degree in music therapy and music education. She completed her internship at Music Therapy Services of Waukesha County, LLC in Hartland, WI. Sarah completed her Neurologic Music Therapy certification in October of 2012 and recently completed her Fellowship training in August of 2014. Sarah grew up on a dairy farm in central Wisconsin and is very excited to be working in her home state. She first became interested in music therapy because of her sister, who has Down syndrome, and loves to sing. Sarah greatly enjoys song writing, and her primary instruments include piano, voice, and guitar. Sarah has been providing music therapy services through LIH since August of 2011.

Andrea Halvorson, MA, MT-BC, WTMR, is a board-certified music therapist who graduated from Luther College in Decorah, IA, with a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance. She continued on to receive her master’s degree in music therapy from The University of Iowa. Andrea completed her internship at West Music in Marion, IA and soon after joined the team at LIH in March of 2013. Since joining LIH, Andrea completed her Neurologic Music Therapy training and completed her Fellowship training in Neurologic Music Therapy in June of 2017. Andrea grew up in Rushford Village, MN and was very happy to return to the area following her education in Iowa.

Leanna Moore, MT-BC, WMTR, is a board-certified music therapist who graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC with a bachelor’s degree in music and music therapy. Before heading off to college, Leanna was raised in a growing city called Mooresville, NC (about 30 miles north of Charlotte). Leanna loves to run, play soccer, snowboard, read a good book, cook, and, of course, play music. Her Wisconsin journey began in Milwaukee in June of 2015, and has continued here in La Crosse in January of 2016. While in Milwaukee, Leanna completed her internship at Cedar Community, a residential facility servicing adults with developmental disabilities, neurologic disease, and rehabilitation services.

Jennifer Wetzler, MT-BC, WMTR, is a board-certified music therapist who graduated from the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana with a bachelor’s degree in music therapy. Jennifer completed her internship at Orchard Manor in Lancaster, WI (about 2 hours south of La Crosse) in September of 2015. After her internship, she moved to Vincennes, IN (about an hour north from Evansville) where she worked as a contracted music therapist with children, teens, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Jennifer is excited to join the LIH team and continue working as a music therapist in Wisconsin! Jennifer has been providing services through Life in Harmony since September of 2016.

Allison Stratman, MT-BC, WMTR, is a board-certified music therapist who graduated from Colorado State University, CO, with a bachelor’s degree in music therapy. She completed her internship at Rehabilitative Rhythms Music Therapy in Aurora, CO. Once completing her internship, she traveled with her husband to Arkansas for a quick three months, and then was thrilled to accept her job offer at LIH! Allison enjoys playing sports, hiking, snowboarding, and, of course, playing music. She is excited to start her career as a music therapist at LIH and get to know the wonderful people of Wisconsin!

Susannah Trevino, MT-BC, WMTR, is a board-certified music therapist who graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, IA with a bachelor’s degree in music therapy. She completed her internship at Helping Hands Center for Special Needs (now Bridgeway Academy) in Columbus, OH. After her internship, she moved to northeast Indiana where she worked as a contracted music therapist with children, teens, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. More recently, she worked at an behavioral health hospital in Columbus, OH for mental health and addiction services with adults in both inpatient and outpatient environments. Although Susannah is from Iowa, her husband grew up in Wisconsin and after spending a few years in Indiana and Ohio, they are excited to be closer to family and friends!

Kelly Bringe is the office assistant at LIH and recently joined the team in January of 2017. Kelly helps to coordinate schedules, billing, and the general organization of the many moving pieces at LIH. Kelly was born in the Madison, WI area and moved to the La Crosse area twelve years ago. Kelly went to Madison Area Technical College to achieve a dental assistant certification. Previous work prior to working at LIH was in the dental field as an dental assistant. Music has always been a major influence in her life, so becoming a part the music therapy team is exciting. Her true passion is her family. She has two wonderful girls and enjoys being outside and reading.
