Life in Harmony Music Therapy, LLC’s annual recital is a voluntary opportunity open to all current clients who have met the following criteria:

  1. Performer registration was received prior to the communicated deadline
  2. Sessions have been adequately attended prior to the recital (80% minimum and subject to therapist discretion)
  3. LIH has received a signed copy of the Public Event Waiver & Social Media Consent/Release Form – Form Available Here

Why are the Public Event Waiver & Social Media Consent/Release Form required?
These forms indicates that all performers are aware of risks associated with participating in a public event.  Please remember, participation in the recital is optional.  If you are unable to sign the required forms for any reason we ask that you notify our office in advance to communicate the need to opt out of participating in the upcoming public event.  These forms will be provided to registered performers prior to the recital.

When is my assigned showtime?
Assigned showtimes have been emailed to the address used to register for the recital or communicated during the music therapy session.

What time should performers get to the Heider Center?
Performers should plan to arrive 15 to 20 minutes prior to the start of the (assigned) showtime. This time will be used for receiving your recital T-shirt at the registration table, changing into the recital shirt (if desired), and finding your seat.  To ensure safety and assure we are able to transition timely between shows, we ask that all performers remain off the stage prior to the start of the show.

Our staff move in many different directions before the show so we kindly ask that you do not arrive more than 20 minutes before the assigned show time as we may not be prepared to help you.

Is the stage handicap accessible?
Yes! There are ramps on either side of the stage that all clients will use to get on and off of the stage. Entrances and exits to the Heider Center are also handicap accessible.

What do performers need to wear?
Performers are welcome to wear whatever is most comfortable. Most of our performers wear their recital T-shirt that they receive on the day of the show. You are welcome to change in the bathrooms before the show if your child wants to wear their new T-shirt.

Where do I pick up a performer’s shirt?
All shirts for performers will be ready for you upon arrival.  We will have prepared a bag with your name on it with the specified shirt size inside the bag.  Please do not take a shirt from the T-Shirt Sales area.  If you arrive late, please look for the bag with your name on it on the table at the entry of the Heider Center.  Please remember, if you do not attend the recital for any reason you may still purchase a shirt following the event.

How do I purchase additional T-Shirts? (Performer’s shirt is NOT ordered here)

What about stage fright?
If you have concerns regarding the person’s ability to perform or confidence in getting on stage please know this… this is exactly what the LIH recital is for!  There is no need to have additional anxiety or concern about “how will he/she do?”, “will he/she get on stage?”, etc.  We are trained to work through these various changing needs.  This is what makes our recital so powerful, special, and unique.  The audience understands that this is a HUGE event and SUCCESS for all of our performers, whether they have performed in the past five shows or if this is their first performance with us.

How will I know when it’s time to perform?
We have an emcee for each show and we will be announcing who is “on deck” and who is “in the hole.”  We also have color coordinated areas of the stage for where to go when it’s time to perform.  We have a printed program that also offers a visual line-up of the show.

Can I take pictures/video during the performances?
Certainly! Please take pictures and videos of your performances.
